Part 2/4: I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it

“I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it.”

These words shaped my entire 3-month plan to get the attention of my business idol, Ramit Sethi.

Bold, I know.
Confused? I’ll explain.

Quick recap:

I joined Ramit’s email list back in 2014.
I wanted to meet him.
I couldn’t afford to attend his Mastermind event ($2,997 ticket + airfare + hotel in NYC).
So, I created an elaborate plan to get his attention.

I decided to write a book.

Yes.

A real, bound, ready-to-buy-on-Amazon-right-now book.

I know that there are easier things to get the attention of someone.

But, for whatever reason, my younger self thought this would be a good idea.

So, for three months I hustled.

I reverse engineered Amazon to find niches where my book would rank.
I created my title, “Automate Your Routines, Guarantee Your Results.”
I pounded out the rough draft in 2.5 weeks.
I hired an editor.
A cover designer.
And voila! Three months later the book was not only launched but a #1 bestseller.

Well, it may interest you to know that the first words of Chapter 1 of my book say this:

“I’m in love, I”m in love and I don’t care who knows it.

“First, it’s probably important to tell you that I’m in love with an Indian man who is eight years older than me.

“He has no idea.

“Also, I’ve never met him.

“Here’s what happened: a few years ago, I became obsessed with the
entrepreneur lifestyle.

“I started following (aka stalking) people like Tim Ferris, James Altucher,
and Seth Godin. I literally devoured everything that they published.

“(Note: It’s weird feeling so close to people who have no idea you exist.)

“The first exposure I had to this type of entrepreneur content was
through my soul mate, a man amongst men – Ramit Sethi.

“(I hope more than anything he is reading this book. Probably because
we need to be in love. Or, at least be friends. Okay fine, I’ll settle for a
conversation over dinner.)

“I absolutely adore him for the principles that he taught me.”

I then go off to explain my first experiences that I had with him that taught me about automation.

Anywayyyyyyy…

I was hoping such a bold claim (and, somewhat funny if I do say so myself) would get his attention.

I sent him my book.
A bunch of other people sent him my book.

And…

(I’ll tell you what happened tomorrow!)

P.S. I’m actually giving my #1 bestselling book away for free this week (on Thursday and Friday). Join my FREE Facebook group to swipe a copy: https://www.facebook.com/groups/automateforimpact/
