2 required webpages to build 500+ person launch team

In April 2016, I launched an instant #1 bestselling book, Automate Your Routines, Guarantee Your Results.

It ranked above Jim Collins’ Good To Great and Dale Carnegie’s How To Win Friends and Influence People.

And, a lot of that success was in part to an exceptional (and exceptionally large) launch team.  I’ve even been interviewed on how to create such a powerful book launch team.

To build the team took some work, but it was mostly in part to two specific funnel pages.

This is what the webpage looked like.

I took a screenshot of the page and posted it on my social media profiles with the following message:

I FINISHED WRITING MY BOOK AND I WANT TO GIVE IT TO YOU FOR FREE!

In fact, I want to give you EVERY book, that I’ll EVER write, for the REST OF MY LIFE, for FREE!

Not kidding.

All I ask is that you leave me a Tweet-sized (two sentences) review on Amazon.

Click on the link if you want in (see below), leave your email in the comments section, or write me at email@email.com! I need to know in the next 72 hours!

Tag anyone that you think might want this book for free!

I was religiously strict about only letting people in on this for 72 hours.  That resulted in a serious scarcity mentality that played to my favor.  Within 72 hours, over 550 people joined my launch team.

The second page was a simple thank you page that contained two messages.

First:  THANK YOU.

Second:  a link to the book would be in their inbox at [specific time].

And, that’s it!

Some people argue that this was a ridiculous strategy, as I was giving away my book (and every book) free.  But, if you understand the inner-workings of self-publishing, you know that a review (especially in the beginning stages) is a lot more valuable than money.  The review (especially a good review) accelerates your rankings and gets you in front of tens of thousands of potential buyers (if not more).

It’s now years later and I’m still making money monthly from this book.

Or, a few.  Whatever you most prefer.
